Crime Drama · PBS Masterpiece · 2023–2026
With half the Brink's-Mat gold still missing, the high-stakes final chapter of the hunt begins. DCS Brian Boyce and his team learn the criminals they convicted in Season 1 only ever had half of what was stolen — and chasing down the other half exposes a much wider trail of international money laundering and organized crime, taking the investigation from London to Tenerife and beyond.
Season 2 is part of British TV Hub's British TV autumn 2026 preview.
About the show
The Gold dramatizes the real 1983 Brink's-Mat robbery, in which armed thieves broke into a warehouse near Heathrow expecting cash and walked out with £26 million in gold bullion — at the time, the biggest robbery in history. Written and created by Neil Forsyth, the series follows the money as it works its way through smelters, fences, and money launderers over the following decade. Hugh Bonneville leads as DCS Brian Boyce, the by-the-book officer heading the police task force, alongside Charlotte Spencer and Emun Elliott as detectives Nicki Jennings and Tony Brightwell. Jack Lowden returns as fence Kenneth Noye, with Dominic Cooper and Tom Cullen also back as key figures on the criminal side. This is the show's second and final season, moving the story into the 1990s.
