Maigret — Season 2

6 Episodes Stars Benjamin Wainwright Contemporary Paris Crime Drama Georges Simenon

Benjamin Wainwright returns as Chief Inspector Jules Maigret for a new run of complex, unsettling cases across contemporary Paris. This time the pressure comes from inside his own department: Director of Police Xavier Guichard, wary of Maigret's rising profile, deliberately weakens his team to take him down a peg. With his unit undermined and the cases only getting harder, Maigret is pushed toward a painful choice between his career and his marriage to Louise.

About the show

Maigret reimagines Georges Simenon's classic detective novels in present-day Paris — though it's actually filmed in Budapest, which Wainwright says works surprisingly well as a stand-in. Benjamin Wainwright stars as the title detective, with Stefanie Martini as his wife Louise. Season 2 adapts three of Simenon's best-known novels and adds Nathaniel Parker as Maigret's new boss, Director of Police Xavier Guichard, who's grown wary of Maigret's rising profile.
