Our Commitment
British TV Hub (britishtvhub.com) is committed to making this site accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. This is an independent, single-person site, and accessibility work is ongoing rather than a one-time project — the goal is steady improvement, not a claim of perfection.
Standard We Target
This site aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), the standard most commonly referenced for websites. That includes things like:
- Alt text on meaningful images, with decorative images hidden from assistive technology
- Sufficient color contrast between text and its background
- A logical heading structure and one main content landmark per page
- Keyboard access to every interactive element, with a visible focus indicator
- Accessible names on icon-only buttons and links (such as social icons)
- Respect for a visitor's reduced-motion preference
What's Been Done
The site has gone through two rounds of accessibility review:
- A full source-code review of every page (landmarks, skip links, form labels, focus management, color contrast, reduced-motion support).
- A rendered, browser-based audit using automated WCAG testing tools against every live page, with manual verification of anything the automated tools flagged as uncertain.
Both reviews are dated and kept on file. Fixes are made to the underlying code — this site does not use an accessibility overlay or widget to paper over issues.
Known Limitations
No site is perfectly accessible to every visitor, and this one is no exception. A few things worth knowing:
- Embedded YouTube trailers are hosted by YouTube, and their player's accessibility is YouTube's own responsibility rather than something this site controls.
- The Ask Tilly / Cozy Mystery Guide chat assistant is provided by a third-party service (Chatbase), and its interface accessibility depends on that provider.
- Automated testing and manual review catch a great deal, but not everything — real assistive-technology testing (for example with a screen reader) has not yet been done on every page.
Reporting a Problem
If you run into an accessibility barrier anywhere on this site, please let us know. Include the page where you ran into trouble and, if you can, a brief description of the problem (what you were trying to do and what happened instead) — that's genuinely the fastest way to get it fixed.
Email info@britishtvhub.com. As a small independent site, response times can vary, but every report is read and accessibility issues are prioritized.
Date of This Statement
