Like Portwenn, the fictional village of Lochdubh is packed with eccentric locals, and the show balances its gentle mysteries with plenty of dry humour.

Mark Benton and Jo Joyner play an unlikely pair of private investigators solving crimes in and around Stratford-upon-Avon. The tone is light and comic, and the pairing of a gruff lead with a sunny partner will feel familiar to anyone who enjoyed Martin and Louisa's dynamic.
Kris Marshall reprises DI Humphrey Goodman from Death in Paradise, now settled in his partner's hometown on the Devon coast. The West Country seaside setting, bloodless cases and focus on a couple building a life together make it a natural next stop after Portwenn.
Bradley Walsh and Joanna Scanlan lead this sunny adaptation of H.E. Bates' The Darling Buds of May, following a boisterous family in the 1950s Kent countryside. If the scenery and village gossip were your favourite parts of Doc Martin, this is pure countryside comfort viewing.
Keeley Hawes plays a widowed mother who moves her four children from Bournemouth to the Greek island of Corfu in the 1930s. It shares Doc Martin's blend of gentle comedy and real heart, set against scenery that is every bit as beautiful as the Cornish coast.
